Christmas 2013

The year has been so much hectic & happening, that I didn't realise that the year is already ending. It has been one of the most happening year of my life. I have started an office in satellite area in partnership with one college friend who is settled in Australia now. The office is started from 1st December, 2013. I have recruited 1 seo guy who works on Australian SEO Projects.

Normally I used to be at home for most of the time, but since 1st, Eva doesn't see me at home. So, whenever I reach home, she gets so happy seeing me and comes to me crawling. It makes my day so fulfilling and complete seeing her smiling face.

Being a christmas day, I had off at the office. In the morning I went to Viren Mama's office to check on Ascetic Multiserve's accounts and clear few things. In the afternoon, when we were making Eva eat dal-rice, she puked on my favourite green t-shirt. I don't know for some reason it didn't get me angry, but I was concerned about her that she couldn't eat the food properly. She is just like me, if she doesn't want to eat or doesn't like the food, she get angry and pukes everything that she has eaten.

Anyways, at night we wanted her to see Santa Claus, so we took her out on our activa, and went to Himalaya mall. To our surprise, no shop in Himalaya Mall had Santa, not even Big Bazaar. Meanwhile Riddhi broke her sandals, so we had to buy new chappals from Big Bazaar. Then we thought of going to Vastrapur lake to see Santa, but on the way on Bloomzbury Cafe, we saw Santa who was standing alone, without any crowd. When we took Eva near him, she was really surprised and affraid to see someone like this. Anyways she is allergic to Tall and Fat People (Exception Eva's Mami, lol :P). The santa was generous enough to take his beard and mustache off, so that she doesn't get scared, but Eva didn't like that idea either.

Eva Turns 1 Year - Party Begins

So, finally the day had arrived. We were all geared up for this special day of our angel. We didn't want to have a large lavish party, but wanted our near & dear ones to share the joy. We had searched for a good venue since last 1 week. Finally US Pizza on S. G. Road was decided. The time given to everyone was 7:00 pm, as it was a monday (working day), we knew everyone will be late. The special cake was decided for Eva. The fresh & fresh bakery, our cake partner for ahmedabadgiftshop.com was going to deliver a barbie doll cake decided by Riddhi & Me.

It was fun having everyone with us to see my angel finishing her first year and completing our lives. Here are few memorable moments that we were able to capture thanks to Kaushey uncle.

We also took Eva to Dr. Rao's clinic for vaccination. Her weight is 8 kg today, which is lower side of normal weight for a girl. We need to improve her weight by feeding good nutritious food. She cried a little after getting the shot from doc. She is really good girl! My sweetheart!

Eva turns 1 year today!

I can't believe its Eva's first birthday already! As they say, time flies, it has flown at Jet's speed for us. It has been such fantastic year for me, and most memorable of all these years. We were new parents, the life has changed totally, all the focus and importance is given to Eva and no one else.

I still remember that Sunday afternoon, 25th November, 2012 - When our angel came on this earth. Generally I have tendency to slip little longer on Sundays, but this was going to be a special Sunday, I got a call early in the morning (if I remember correct, it was 6:30 in the morning) from my brother-in-law that we will have to take Riddhi to hospital today. I woke up at once, changed into track from shorts, and went down stairs from my bedroom. My mom was little surprised to see me up so early, but understood the reason without telling that its going to be the day! She just asked me, any news? I told her that we will have to take her to hospital, took the keys of my Maruti Swift LDI, and reached her place. The distance between my place and her place was barely 2 minutes drive, and in the morning there was no traffic as well. I reached her place and she was definitely not in a good mood. I understood that she was going through a pain that she has never felt before. We took some necessary stuff needed and reached hospital within 5 minutes. It is not far away, Dr. Nachiket Bhatt's Aroma Hospital  is opposite High Land Park Restaurant and very near to our old house in Kamal Society. Only Riddhi and her mom was there along with me in the car.

My brother-in-law had already called the hospital and told them that we were coming. The hospital staff was still half awake, they took Riddhi inside for checking. They said it should be done by 12 O'clock in the afternoon. I was waiting for doctor, but there was no sign of him. Meanwhile Rudrik also came to hospital on his Honda Eterno. Finally doctor came in his tracks, I think he came by walk from his house. He checked everything and told to wait till noon. There is a superstition that if a husband is with wife during the hospital stay, the wife takes longer time to deliver. I don't have wildest idea who invented this, but I was told this by my mother-in-law. I was told about this superstition earlier when we had to take Riddhi to hospital before few days. We stayed in the hospital for 2 days, but it was not the right time, so we came back. I am not going to come back empty handed this time, so I decided to leave.

It was really difficult for me to leave her in such situation, I thought I had the right to stay with her especially at this time, but I left with a hope that she will be relieved from the pain early if I leave. I went back home, told my mom that we will have to wait till noon, and went back to my bed. It was 7:20 in my watch, and there was still time to sleep. I could barely sleep with anxiety in mind. After sometime, I got up, got ready, went to derasar for puja and came back. The first thing I checked after coming home from Derasar was my mobile. There was no missed call :(

Somehow managed to get through to afternoon. My mom was already at Hospital with Riddhi after finishing house work. I had 1 cake delivery in the afternoon for Ahmedabad Gift Shop. It was near 132" ring road, near Jhansi Rani's statue. As the person wanted to get it delivered before 3:30, I left home at 3:00. I collected the cake from Jayhind, and was on the way to deliver it when my phone rang. It was my mom's call. 100 thoughts passed through my mind in 5 seconds before picking up the phone. Finally decided to pick it up to get the news, she told me that she is inside labor room and I should reach the hospital ASAP.

I was on my activa, and I still remember the time, it was 3:25 in the afternoon. I reached the place, deliver the cake and literally ran back to my activa. I drove as fast as I can to reach the hospital. No one at home knew that I have got the call, and I didn't had time to call them either. I just wanted to reach hospital, and that's it. I reached there, parked my activa and ran up the stairs. Only my mom and mother-in-law was there in the room. I finally concluded that I was not late. After about 5 mins, the nurse came out and gave the news that its a girl. It filled up so much joy in my heart that it had to come out from my eyes. The curiosity to know the result was at its peak and it was satisfied with a wonderful news.

મારા ઘરે લક્ષ્મીજી પધાર્યા હતા.

After cleaning her, the nurse finally got her out and I was the first one to take her in my arms. I just cannot describe the feelings of having my own daughter in my arms. She was so cute and adorable that I couldn't find the word to describe her. Finally "Angel" was the only word I could come up with. I literally had goose bumps when nurse handed her over to me. It is one of the very few feelings that you get to feel.

So here is how she looked on the first day. This was taken on my iPhone 3gs when she was in her Nani's lap. I captured her legs as well which were so cute!

Eva Shah
After that I called up Eva's grand pa to gave the good news. My dad was so happy to hear the news and told me that he had his phone in his hand to call me up and ask if something has happened or not. After that the announcement was made through SMS to all family members and dear friends. The blessings and wishes started to flow from all corners of the world. How we passed our first week will be covered in the next post
